Okay – maybe asking for theme ideas during the middle of the week was not such a good idea. We are all tired, worn out and “workin for the weekend!” But we surely can muster up enough energy and creativity to think about some creative ways to try and communicate what we believe God is doing and going to do in our lives during the next year.
Maybe some of you are not sure of what I mean when I say theme. Some examples might be: “Doing Life Together! Back To The Basics! Impact Greer And The World!” Does that give you an idea? What has God done is your life and what would you like to see Him do? What do you think God wants to do through the life and ministry of Northwood?
Several of you commented that you could not the “COMMENT” to work. If you can’t just shoot me an email at pastor@rightdirections.org I am really looking forward to hearing from you – so think about it, pray about it and then share your ideas!
My dear BIC,
I have found in these 82 years that now and then Father may shout, but more often than not He waits for those rare moments when I have had sense enough to stop all the noise and listen. I must confess that I’ve not received a theme as such, but have for the last number of days have attempted to understand what has happened in this country, indeed looks like the world.
I lived thru the so called great depression of this Country and can remember that times were difficult, But father always provided a home, food, clothing, etc., and our kin and neighbors shared their gardens, etc., and we all got thru just fine.
It is true that we lived in a different time, not nearly so many people back then. We knew our neighbors and trusted all..if we even had a door key I never knew it until later years.
WW II came and went..lot of folk made good money…Greenville, Greer, Spartanburg all expanded…small farms almost gone, parents made sure their children would not have the hard times they had..Credit Cards became marvels.
And here is where I think the “rubber has hit the road.” Don’t know about you or anyone else, but this old man was NOT prepared for what happened with the financial structure of this country. I think that we may not have seen anything yet.
All this to say if it really gets bad would it not be a great thing if we THE CHURCH really believed that Father wanted us to be a part of the solution and we were prepared to ACT.
NW has been blessed with a great leader and great people and I pray that we all have been trained “For Such A Time As This.”
Listening is easy, Hearing is a gift.
Why is it so hard to do something so right?
Why are we afraid of change?
Wake up! Wake up!
Why are we not where we are supposed to be?
