Please pray for me that I will work for victory in the following areas of my life:
Relationships – I don’t want to become so busy doing ministry that I become detached from those that I love and that love me! God has made it clear to me over the past few weeks that these relationships with family and friends are vital! I cannot do and be all that God has called me to do and be by myself! I need the people that God has put around me – I need you and I need your prayers. Please pray that I will build, develop and grow the very special relationships that God has blessed me with!
Presentation – I have been dealing with this one for the past several years. I am a representative of God – what does a representative of God look like and act like? There are a lot of different opinions on this one! Some think that you should be in a suit and tie all of the time and others think that it really does not matter what you wear. I am beginning to think that you should be yourself – your very best self for God and for His glory. Paul said that he became whatever he needed to, so that he might be a witness for Christ. Pray that I will be what God wants me to be and that He will get all the glory as I witness and share Him with others!
Health – I am not as young as I used to be and while I have always been a very healthy person, I know that I have taken a lot for granted. I need to take care of my physical body with the same intensity that I give to the spiritual part of my life! This means that I will eat better, exercise regular and get proper rest. Pray that I will not take my good health for granted, but that I will show my appreciation by doing my part to protect it!
Thanks for your help, prayers, love and encouragment!
Dearest Michael Joe,
YOU’VE GOT IT! HELP, PRAYERS, LOVE & ENCOURAGEMENT, WHATEVER YOU NEED, PLEASE KNOW THAT WE ARE ‘THERE’ FOR YOU! and although we have never said it till now, “Please know that your welcome at our home anytime.”
As members of your “flock” @ Northwood our faith & love for GOD has grown by ‘leaps & bounds’ under your guidance & the HOLY SPIRITS desire for us to become more like our Heavenly Father.
Last evening Frank had a sermon on “CHANGE”, Israelites change from slaves to being free. Well something happens when we turn the BIG 40, we begin to realize that LIFE IS A BALANCE, & usually we need to make some changes if we are to survive! Well kid, these ‘words of wisdom’ come from 2 sixty-nine year olds who, with GODS help, continue to survive despite satan’s constant challanges.
Blessings & Love to you & yours, Hal & pat

Dear Bro.MJ,
I know I’m kind of back tracking here but seeing you demonstrate this touches my heart.
I feel we really need to reach out to the new faces in our congregation during greeting time (Im guilty too). There are people in our church who might not look or act like we think a so called”Christian” should. I watch every Sunday when people leave these people out (I dont mean on purpose) but God touched my heart many years ago about this. I am truly not a respecter of persons. I used to be and I am ashamed of that. I had an example in my church from a lady who sang in the choir and I noticed that she always went to the people that were visiting or in some way different or stand -offish.
By the way, it doesnt really matter but she was Mrs. Jacksonville and this girl truly loved the LORD and other people who didnt know HIM. We worked together in our outreach program and her example changed my life.
By the way, I have seen the biggest change in you in the last 41/2 years . God has changed your focus, like you said and I think its great. We have to be “APPROACHABLE”.
It is easy for me to love (usually} but I understand its hard for others ,especially to show it. I know , Ive been there too.
For those who are outgoing , please try to find someone who looks like they need a hug. It could change their life…I know …….It has changed mine at times when my life was really troubled. Everybody needs love and acceptance………Keep it up MJ , it will finally catch on…….love in Christ, Mel
